Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026

This policy explains what we collect when you visit or buy from this store, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Who we are. This store is operated by STROUD, 502 W 7th St Ste 100, Erie, PA 16502, United States. Contact: team@trystroud.com. We are the data controller for the information described below.

What we collect

  • When you buy: name, email, shipping and billing address, phone if you give it, and the items ordered. We never see or store your full card number — payment is handled by our processor, and we receive only a confirmation and the last four digits.
  • When you browse: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring site, and time on page — collected through cookies and similar technologies.
  • When you contact us or subscribe: your email address and whatever you write to us.

Why we use it

  • To take, fulfil, ship and support your order — the primary purpose.
  • To send order and shipping notifications (these are not marketing and cannot be opted out of while an order is open).
  • To send marketing email only if you opted in, with an unsubscribe link in every message.
  • To detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • To measure how our advertising and site perform, in aggregate.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share only what a named partner needs to do its job:

  • Shopify — the platform this store runs on (hosting, checkout, order records).
  • Our payment processors — to take payment and prevent fraud.
  • Our fulfilment partner and shipping carriers — to make and deliver your parcel. They receive your name and delivery address, nothing more.
  • Our email provider — to send the messages described above.
  • Advertising and analytics platforms (for example Meta and Google) — where you have consented, for measurement and audience matching. Depending on your state, this may count as “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under law; see your rights below.
  • Where the law requires it — a valid legal request, or to protect our rights.

Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies keep your cart and session working and cannot be switched off. Analytics and advertising cookies are optional; you can refuse or clear them in your browser settings or through the consent controls on this site. Refusing them does not stop you buying.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can email us and ask us to: tell you what we hold, give you a copy, correct it, or delete it. You can opt out of marketing at any time, and you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other US states with privacy laws have these rights by statute, including the right to appeal a refusal. Send any request to team@trystroud.com with the subject “Privacy request”. We verify identity by matching your request to an order or account email, and we respond within 45 days.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally seven years). Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained in aggregate.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and held on our platform providers' infrastructure under their security controls. No system is perfect and we will not claim ours is; if a breach affects you, we will tell you.

Children

This store is not directed to anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell subscribers by email.
